Why Dealerships Need to Invest in Smarter Training
Your staff members are the embodiment, representation, and execution of your brand—they are what makes any dealership operate well, or, ideally, better than well, and they represent the dealership to customers and potential customers day in and day out. It’s no surprise, then, that having staff that are empowered to be successful, trained properly, and given the necessary resources to feel supported and work efficiently is one of the most important elements of achieving increased revenues, profits, and customer satisfaction as a dealership.
Indeed, says Coolest Gadgets, “Most business leaders (68%) believe helping employees succeed directly boosts business growth.” And not only that—not helping staff is incredibly costly, beyond just the stress of it all. “Replacing one agent can cost over USD 10,000, making attrition expensive.” The best course, then, is to invest in educating your employees on the technologies available to them to help support them in their jobs.
The Power of AI in Dealership Training
Indeed, says Forbes, dedicating resources to empowering employees is at the forefront of a successful business outlook. “When it comes to people practices, the top three metrics all leaders must prioritize are Engagement, Performance, and Retention – each of which has a direct impact on revenue and profit growth.”
Artificial Intelligence, AI, is a great tool for dealerships to employ in tandem with staff members for maximum impact. Continues Coolest Gadgets: “Moreover, 61% of top executives now feel more hopeful about AI boosting team productivity than last year.” And further, last year, “…AI tools [were] used in 88% of call centers to make customer service better.” Helping your employees understand how they can maximize their usage of AI to better serve their customers is one way to ensure they see a future at a dealership, rather than feel threatened by such technologies.
Training Staff for Confidence and Performance
But this isn’t always easy. A Business.com article explains that, “…many companies have experimented with artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, finding ways to boost productivity and innovation in their organizations. However, new data reveal that workers lack confidence in implementing AI in their day-to-day duties, signaling a need for more employee training and support.”
How to do that? Forbes explains that “In the ongoing era of digital transformation, harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can revolutionize talent management and employee development. To build a competitive and adaptive workforce, organizations must focus on key AI-driven areas that enhance employee data analysis, talent management, tailored learning and development, and performance management, and foster a culture of continuous learning.” This means dealerships should provide employees with personalized learning paths and performance management to encourage an understanding and appreciation for AI tools. “AI supports the creation of a culture of continuous learning by providing tools and platforms that encourage ongoing education and skill development.”
And the proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Business.com continues to say that nearly 75% of employees “agree AI has enhanced their productivity,” while 60% claim to feel more “satisfaction” at work with such training. And even more so, “…90% of employees who received AI training reported better performance…”
So what are you waiting for?
